A beautiful set table and a lounge area poolside? What else would you want to create that birthday vibe?
Pre-covid my 40th was going to be a huge deal for sure. I wanted to either go on a big trip or have a huge lavish party. But as it got closer with no signs of the pandemic situation improving, I knew I had to think of something else.
An intimate dinner in my own backyard seemed like the perfect way to celebrate. (And now looking back I wouldn’t want it any other way). I styled a mahogany wood table using a wine burgundy runner, ivory, red and blush florals, and crystal glassware.
Near the dinner table a styled lounge area awaited poolside. I combined a tan velvet couch, gold Morrocan coffee table and deep red Persian rug with green chairs, wood accents and gold and burgundy throughout. It was the perfect area to enjoy wine and charcuterie with my girlfriends before dinner!
We enjoyed a candlelit omakase dinner (sushi is my absolute favorite) with gold chopsticks and green porcelain sake glasses. The whole night was such a vibe, and came to an end with a beautiful cake symbolizing where I am at this point in my life ~ just the beginning.
